~Rather than a “One-size-fits-all” approach to massage and bodywork, I offer a variety of methods that allow me to tailor each session to fit your needs and preferences to maximize the benefits you receive from your sessions.
~Some of us prefer gentle touch with light pressure; some of us prefer a firmer touch with deeper pressure. Some of us have chronic health issues and some of us seek relaxation and stress reduction.
~Together you and I will explore your desired outcomes for your session to create a session that suits you uniquely.
~To begin that exploration, what follows is a “Session Menu” guide
~Gentle Touch Therapies~
~cranioSacral therapy:
gently releases tensions and res-
trictions in the membranes lining
the inside of the head and spinal
column. Can be helpful for head-
aches, TMJ, migraines and other
conditions.
~visceral Manipulation:
releases tension and restrictions
in the ligaments and tissues sur-
rounding and supporting the
organs. Can be especially helpful
after abdominal surgeries or for
conditions such as Irritable
Bowel Syndrome as well as other
Conditions.
~lymphatic Drainage:
uses a gentle stretch to stimulate
fluid flow in the lymphatic
system. Can be helpful for al-
lergies and strengthening the
immune system. Also can help in
reducing tissue swelling from
inflammation such as arthritis.
~Medium Touch Therapy~
~swedish Massage:
uses a combination of long flow-
ing strokes and kneading of mus-
cles to create a state of overall
relaxation.
~prenatal Massage:
nurturing touch for expectant
mothers.
~Firm Touch Therapies~
~myoFascial Release/
Connective Tissue Release:
“myo” means muscle and
“fascia” means connective
tissue. Our muscles and
connective tissue weave
together to form a sheath that
surrounds our organs and
skeleton. This therapy “un-
winds” areas of restriction
in this sheath that may cause
pain and discomfort and
creates greater ease of move-
ment.
~deep Tissue:
uses firmer pressure to re-
lease chronically shortened
muscle fibers especially in
the deeper core muscles of
the body.
